Our team is dedicated to making your group event a success. From the initial communications phase and throughout the group’s stay on the destination, you will be dealing with your personal groups coordinator and one of the owners of the company. We believe that this is key to making sure you get the information necessary as quickly as possible when preparing your quotes for the group. Our response time is usually within 24 hours of receiving your request and no more than 48 hours later.

At Palmera Destination Services we believe in customizing every offer for each group – since no two groups are ever the same. Whether you just need airport transfers or an excursion or the whole package, we are happy to assist you.

Our services include:

Team building:

Team building activities are a great way for members of a group to get to know each other and work together in new ways under the Caribbean sun. Depending on the size of your group, there are different options available for team building activities. For groups of minimum 60 persons, we recommend e.g. Bavaro Runners Treasure Hunt or Discover The New World:

Bavaro Runners Tresure Hunt (minimum 60 pers. - maximum 200 pers.):

This adventure creates a fun cultural tour that builds teamwork and bonding. Teams work together to search for the Taino Indian treasure using maps with clues along the way. 1/3 of the map is buried in 3 different locations on the tour - in the sugarcane fields, at the typical Dominican house and at the local school. The teams have to find the 3 pieces in order to put together the map, which will show where the treasure is hidden. Each Bavaro Runners safari truck has a designated team captain who will help the team with the clues. One clue gives the starting point of the treasure hunt, the second cluegives the direction in which to go and the third clue gives the discance from the starting point. This program runs along the full day Bavaro Runners excursion.

Bavaro Runners Discover the New World (minimum 60 pers. - maximum TBC):

The teams for this team building adventure will be formed at the hotel before heading out on the Bavaro Runners Safari trucks towards the Mountain Ranch. While driving through villages and hills, the tour guides will give information regarding the Dominican Republic and the upcoming activities. Once the teams arrive at the ranch, they will participate in a number of physically challenging activities in order to survive in the new world.
First, the teams will have to find a source of energy by squeezing sugar cane by hand in order to collect juice. Second, the teams must transport themselves by means of donkeys in a donkey race.Third, the teams have to find a good source of water by opening a coconut by hand and collecting the coconut water from it. Fourth, the best hunter from each team will participate in a coconut throwing contest. Fifth, after a strenuous day in the jungle, the teams need to refresh themselves with a beer chugging contest. Sixth, to measure strength the teams will go head to head in a tug of war.Seventh, the teams will need to rest and in order to do so must build shelter with materials that will be provided.

Marinarium Team Building Activities

#1: During the swim in the marine park, there will be a hunt for colored rocks. Each team has to find the most rocks of their team color.

#2: Representatives from each team will take a full glass of liquid with their teeth and take it to a table to the other side of the boat. Pour the liquid into a bowl on the table without using their hands and return to the starting point. This will be repeated by the other contestants. When the time ends (2 minutes), the team that has the most liquid in the bowl wins.

#3: The boat will stop at the Natural Pool. Competitors will participate in a relay race when entering the water. Each participant will have two life belts attached around their ankles and two attached around their chest. When entering the water, the participants will swim from point A to point B. The team who will finish first will be the winner.

Testimonials:

“I first worked with Rawnie when she and Anders took over ownership of Palmera Destination Services. I had worked with the previous owner and I was anxious about new owners. From the first moment I met Rawnie, I was a client to stay. We had four groups at a new property in Punta Cana and to say it was hectic would be an understatement. However, Rawnie and her “crew” was at the airport to meet us and was with us every step of the trip. She knew everything about Punta Cana and the best tours for our participants. I would HIGHLY recommend Rawnie and Palmera if you have any groups or leisure travelers going to Punta Cana.” – Lou Hanna, Experienced incentive travel professional & President at Creative Destinations, Inc.

“Anders and his company is GREAT to work with and I would have no problem endorsing him. He and his wife are THE experts when it comes to Punta Cana and I’ve always had the best service/advice from them. If you don’t use Anders and his company then you’re taking a needless risk. Use them! They will not disappoint!” – Brian Columbari, Owner at Carefree Cruises, Inc.

“I recommend the services of Palmera Destination Services and can vouch that Rawnie is very professional and efficient if you are looking at the Dom Rep as a destination.” - Carlton Carugati, Director at IAGTO

“I have been to Punta Cana seven times now to either play in a golf tournament where Anders set everything up including the accommodations, or with travel groups where Anders arranged everything for us in Punta Cana. He knows everyone, and found us the best excursions around the area also. He is like family to us. I am looking forward to returning again this year!” – Jim Lovell, Practicing Dentistry in La Jolla, San Diego

“Rawnie is a wealth of information and very dedicated to providing quality experience for her clients.”– Beth Skypeck, Luxury Travel Consultant at Hurley Travel Experts

“Anders is a detailed person and helped me manage my group of 130 people in Punta Cana all coming and going with different flights and days. He ran our golf outing and coordinated all hotel logistics. It was a pleasure to work with someone that was trustworthy and reliable!” – Charlene Failla, President at Luxury Cruises and Tours

Destination Weddings

The Dominican Republic is without a doubt an extremely popular destination for weddings and each year hundreds if not thousands of happy couples say “I do” on beautiful beaches or in lush tropical gardens e.g. in Punta Cana.

Palmera Destination Services understands the importance of perfection when it comes to wedding. All groups are important, but when you are getting married that day of your life has to be just right.

We have worked with many weddings and have mostly coordinated ceremonies on the beaches of Punta Cana (as this is THE most sought after wedding spot). But if you wish to get married in a church, know that you have this option as well.

For weddings, we provide the same services as mentioned above for groups & incentives and strive for the same high level of service and commitment as we do with all of our clients.

If you want us to coordinate your wedding, we will work closely with the staff at the resort where you will be staying. If you prefer to just use our “additional” services (e.g. airport transfers, excursions, golf, etc.) or have us plan your VIP bachelor/bachelorette parties, we can do that too.

To request our assistance in planning your wedding, please contact us at groups@grouppalmera.com

Testimonials:

“Best day ever on the BEBE – Joe and Tiffany’s wedding. Great snorkeling, drinks and captain and crew. A good time was had by all. Thanks. – Aino Kald, grandmother of the bride, United States of America.

“I started working with Anders through phone calls and emails about six months prior to our wedding trip to PC. He was so incredibly helpful and made planning excursions and our airport transfers so easy! When we arrived we were greeted by a Group Palmera representative and had an air conditioned ride to our resort. Our group of 30 was able to meet with Anders to plan and pay for any excursions we wanted to sign up for. The bebe catamaran was so much fun! Our entire group has a blast snorkeling, swimming and drinking! The guys on the boat were great just as Anders said they would be! My husband planned an onshore fishing trip for his bachelor party morning and they all reported having an AMAZING time! Go great in fact that he came back from the trip and immediately decided he wanted to do one more fishing trip before our trip ended.

As this was last minute, I worried that it would be inconvenient for Anders. However, he went above and beyond to make sure they were able to go back out again and both trips Anders went with! They even got to stop off at a grill and bar and have their catch grilled up for them! My husband said that was the best fishing trip he has ever gone on, and he is from Alaska!

They also went to Imagine Night Caves and had a great time. My sisters went to swim with the dolphins and said it was awesome! All in all I am so thankful that I was referred to Anders from another bride on bestdestinationweddings.com She had wonderful things to say about working with him, and they are ALL true! He is so helpful, fast at responding and gets everything done correctly. There was no waiting, no misunderstandings, no issues at all and out guests loved Anders and all the excursions! I highly recommend making your reservations through Group Palmera. They have better prices then the resorts, better excursions, the ability to plan ahead and beyond that the customer service is perfect! Thanks so much Anders and team for making out trip so incredible!! It was such a pleasure working with you!! – Natalie Blevins, United States of America.
